Privacy: what we collect, and what we do with it

We collect what we need to price your equipment and come back to you, and nothing else. This page lists every field on our form, says why we ask for it, says how long we keep it, and tells you how to have it deleted.

What the quote form collects

Six fields are required, the rest are optional. We do not ask for a home address, a date of birth, a government identifier, a bank detail or a payment card anywhere on this website, and no page on this website ever will.

Every field on the quote form, whether it is required, and why we ask for it
FieldRequired?Why we ask for it
Your nameRequiredSo Seth knows who he is replying to and who to ask for on the phone.
Company or organizationRequiredTo check whether we have spoken to your organization before, and to address the offer correctly.
Work emailRequiredTo send you the offer and the questions we need answered to price the lot.
PhoneRequiredTo call you with the offer. Most lots are settled faster by phone than by email.
What do you have?RequiredThe description of the equipment. This is what the price is built from.
Attached listOptionalAn asset list, an MDM export, a manifest or photographs. Send the file with the serial numbers and user names removed if you would rather not share them: we do not need them to price a lot.
Roughly how many unitsOptionalTo size the freight and the pickup.
When it needs to moveOptionalTo tell you honestly whether we can hit your date.
Country, and state or regionCountry requiredTo work out the freight and who pays it. We do not ask for a street address until a pickup is agreed.
District name, lease-end date, rack countOptionalShown only on the page that needs them. A district name routes a school enquiry correctly, a lease-end date sets the deadline we work back from, a rack count sizes the job.

What we do with what you send

We use it to answer your enquiry. That means pricing the equipment, replying to you with an offer or with the questions we need answered first, arranging a pickup if you accept, and keeping in touch about the lot until it is settled. The buying desk reads it, and the desk is what prices the lots and makes the offers.

We do not sell your details. We do not rent, trade or share them for anyone else to market to you. Your equipment list is commercially sensitive and we treat it that way.

The form delivers your enquiry to seth@sjwholesalellc.com. From there it sits in Seth's mailbox and our own contact records, and nowhere else. No advertising platform, no chat widget and no marketing automation tool touches it.

How long we keep it, and who else sees it

A quote enquiry is a business record and we keep it while the deal is live. After that it runs on a clock rather than sitting in a mailbox forever.

  • Retention: we keep an enquiry for 24 months after the last contact about it, whether the lot completed or went nowhere, and then we delete it. A completed purchase keeps its own transaction record for as long as the tax rules require.
  • Processors: the enquiry passes through the company that hosts this website and the company that carries our email, and stops there. Nothing else sits between you and Seth.
  • Sub-processing: nobody else receives it. We do not send enquiry data to a data broker, an enrichment service, an advertising network or any other buyer.

Freight is the one place your details necessarily leave us: a carrier needs a pickup address, a contact name and a phone number to make a collection. How a pickup is arranged is set out here.

Cookies, analytics and tracking

This site runs no analytics script and sets no cookie. There is no advertising pixel, no tag manager, no chat widget, no newsletter, and no cookie set for advertising or profiling.

That is why there is no consent banner on any page: there is nothing to consent to. Our web host keeps ordinary server logs, which record the request and the address it came from, and those are used to keep the site up and for nothing else. If any of this changes, this section changes with it. We will not run a tracker and stay quiet about it.

If we emailed you first

We send cold email to businesses about buying their surplus IT hardware. It comes from one of these mailboxes, and they are all the same company:

  • seth@sjwholesalellc.com
  • seth@sjwholesale.co
  • purchasing@surplusinventorybuyer.com

We email a work address at a business, about that business, never a personal address. The addresses come from commercial business contact databases that list people by job role at the company that employs them. We do not buy consumer lists and we do not take addresses from personal accounts or from social profiles.

Reply with the word remove, or email seth@sjwholesalellc.com, and we stop. You do not have to give a reason, and you will not get a follow-up asking you to reconsider.

Ask us to delete it, or correct it

Email or call the buying desk and ask. We will tell you what we hold, correct anything that is wrong, and delete it if you want it gone and no live transaction depends on it. There is no portal and no ticket queue; this is a direct line.

This page does not name a statute and does not claim to grant you a statutory right. It states what we do: tell you what we hold, correct it, delete it, and stop emailing you, for anyone who asks, wherever they are. We would rather commit to the behavior than publish a legal framework we have not had reviewed.
